The Head of Bahria Town Relief Operations for Thar, Brig Tahir Butt, has disclosed that a plan has been finalised to give away Rs500,000 to the parents of each child killed due to the drought in Thar as announced by Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain.
The data of over one hundred children killed is being collected from the district administration Mithi and hospitals of the area.
Talking to this correspondent on Monday he said Bahria Dastarkhwan has been launched on emergency basis at the District Headquarters Hospital Mithi. On Monday 600 deserving persons were served with lunch and dinner. Such dastarkhwans have also started functioning at the Tehsils of Deplo and Chachro. The Bahria Dastarkhwan attracting large crowds will also start functioning at the border town of Nagarparker on Tuesday.
Brig Tahir Butt said medical facilities have also been provided at Tehsil Deplo and Chachro. He said Bahria teams are reaching such areas where no official or non-governmental functionary has reached earlier.
